The ION Orchard Mall in Singapore is one of the best malls in the World. The place is amazing with multiple stories and basements where you can get lost so easy. I did. But what a place to get lost. So many stores from food to the biggest and most expensive brands on the planet. The ION Orchard has it all. We were looking for a place to eat and the concierge in the mall recommended Imperial Treasure Steamboat. We did not realize that this was a cook your own hot pot restaurant until we sat down and began to order. Really did not understand as we ordered the Sichuan Spicy Soup to start our meal. I really thought we were ordering a bowl of soup but then realized that this was the soup base that we were going to cook our food in. The Sichuan base was HOT.... REALLY HOT. So hot that my Wife and Daughter could not handle it and they wanted to order something different. We told the waitress and she came to their rescue with a big bowl of chicken broth which she poured into the pot to dilute the spiciness. It worked to a degree and my girls were able to proceed with placing Shrimp, Fish and Beef into the broth. Flavors were good but oh so spicy. Kind of surprised when we got the bill as it was $300 for lunch. Turns out the Fish was charged by the ounce or something and it alone was over $78. The Beef was $42. Heck they even charged for the napkins here.My Wife wanted to confront management about the charges but I said not to because we did not understand the system and ordering. We basically told the waitress just to "bring it". This was good but not worth that kind of money. Funny that we were all so full when we left and then minutes later were hungry again.
